Audi Introduces The New Active Lane Assist Technology

Accidents often occur when the car is moving lane suddenly, especially on the highway. The car that followed from behind with distance is very close to have swerved to avoid a collision, but cause another accident. In fact, when these conditions occur in the streets outside the city with a lane boundary line, the worst result, collisions. Therefore, Audi introduced a new technology called "Active Lane Assist" (ALA), which is also being tested Skoda.
 
How it Works   
The system works at speeds above 65 kph. The main monitor is a camera mounted behind the rearview mirror. His job, to detect lane markings in front of the car. Information from the camera and the data used to determine the speed of the car (tire) or not passing lane markings. 

When the car is expected to unsafe conditions predicted moving lane, ALA will intervene to correct the steering wheel through the electric power steering. 

However, the driver can still control the car. Because the energy used to drive the power steering is not too big. The system is also designed in the event of a sudden failure. If the system can not correct the "lane departure" for example, turned sharply, the system warns the driver with vibration through the steering wheel.
